First day of the Summer holidays. So far, very promising.

These photos were taken in Paris, by my brother almost a year ago. To me, they are so evocative, I can remember the bitter cold and oppressive gloom of the day, the way the uncanny stillness seemed to seep into us. I think it's so interesting how these photos contrast my last post, the feelings of Summer and brightness which absorbed the last photos are totally lost in these ones.

Be Still

I lived in this denim dress last holidays, it was just so easy and comfortable. I found it in an op shop, but at that stage it fell just below my calves, and was about 5 sizes too big,nice and unflattering, which is was why I fell in love with it in the first place. After some tortured deliberation I reached the conclusion I would probably get very little use out of it if I left it at that awkward, 40 year- old, trailer-park mum length so I went with the chop. So glad I did now.
